About Me

TJL is my creative alias. It is a reminder of the love of my family and friends that anchors my work.

Inspired by nature, colour, grief, and my interests in Anthropology and Design, I explore how culture, memory, and human experience shape the ways we express ourselves and connect with one another.

I invite the viewer to pause and immerse themselves — not only in the visual surface, but in the ideas beneath. To deepen this engagement, I share written reflections and essays alongside my work and sometimes drawing on my own studies in anthropology as well as the insights of academics in the field. These writings offer context, resonance, and a bridge between visual art and lived experience.

I gravitate toward muted tones that hold depth without harshness, creating pieces that speak to the delicate balance between fragility and strength, sorrow and hope, memory and presence.
